Police chase involving helicopter, K9s, troopers ends with one in custody

The Rochester Police Department along with other local law enforcement agencies were involved in a foot pursuit throughout Rochesters west side.

Just after 5pm on Monday night the Rochester Police Department attempted to make contact with a person wanted for question in a homicide when the male took off on foot. The foot chase lasted over an hour and went through numerous neighborhoods on Rochesters west side.

With the assistance of other officers with the Rochester Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and the New York State Police helicopter they were able to track down and arrest the male.
