One person in custody on Peck Street after heavy police presence
Rochester Police says a man has been taken into custody Saturday on Peck Street.
Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Keith Williams. Police say Williams shot a man on North Goodman Street on Thursday around 9 p.m. That victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. Rochester Police says they were actively looking for Williams when they got a call Saturday morning for a man threatening a person with a weapon on Peck Street. That person knew Williams and called 911. Officers arrived to Peck Street and surrounded a home. Once they knew Williams was inside, they attempted to get him to come out. Rochester Police Departments SWAT team responded. After a short standoff Williams came out of the house without incident. He has been charged with second-degree assault as well as criminal possession of a weapon from Thursday's incident. Williams also faces a menacing charge from Saturday's incident. He is set to be in court Monday morning.
