3 people shot including one dead on Lyell Avenue

On Monday night around 10:30pm the Rochester Police Department received a ShotSpotter activation in the area of Lyell Avenue and Angle Street. As officers arrived on scene, a female who had sustained a gunshot wound to her lower body flagged them down. In a parking lot nearby officers found a male in a parked car that had also sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body. The male was pronounced dead on scene.

While the Rochester Police Department was investigating the incident, two more men showed up at local hospitals with gunshot wounds. One male went to Rochester General Hospital and one went to Strong Hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

Currently, the Rochester Police Department has not confirmed if the incidents are related.
