3 teenagers shot, one killed in Rochester New York
The Rochester Police Department is investigating three separate shootings involving teenagers. At this time, the Rochester Police Department has not been able to confirm if the shoots are related.
At 1:30pm, officers with the Rochester Police Department responded to St. James Street for a ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 17-year-old male with at least one gunshot to his lower body. The male victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. While investigating the incident, the Rochester Police Department arrested a male suspect. The suspect did have a handgun in his possession.
Around 2:30pm, the Rochester Police Department responded to the 300 block of Alphonse Street for a report of a male shot. When officers arrived on scene, they located a teenage male who had sustained at least one gunshot to his upper body. The male was pronounced dead. Detectives with the Rochester Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit are investigating.
At 2:41pm officers with the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Remington Street and Lang Street for a report of a male shot. As officers arrived on scene, they located a teenage male who had been shot at least once in his upper body. The male victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where is undergoing surgery. The male does have life-threatening injuries.
The Rochester Police Department is actively investigating all three of the shoots. They are asking anyone with information to call 911 or crime stoppers (585)423-9300.
