5 people shot on Thurston Road
Before 12 A.M. Saturday night multiple people were shot on Thurston Road. Officers responded to 501 Thurston Road for multiple calls of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived on scene, they found evidence of a shooting, which include a parked vehicle being shot by crossfire.
While officers we’re at the scene 4 victims showed up at Strong Memorial Hospital, 1 showed up at Highland Hospital. All of the victims were brought to the hospital by private vehicles and all have non-life-threatening injuries. All four of the victims that showed up at Strong Memorial Hospital were males between the ages of 22-30 years old. The one female victim that showed up at Highland Hospital was also shot and is 32 years old. All the victims are residents of the city of Rochester New York.
Police say during the investigation they recovered an illegally possessed handgun, rifle, marijuana, $25,000 in cash, drug packaging, & ammunition.
2 males were also arrested shortly after Police charged 31-year-old Shequann Libbett a parolee and a city resident, 36-year-old Julius May who is a also city resident, with multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon, according to a tweet
The incident is under investigation.
The city’s west side has been a hot zone for the majority of the city’s crime lately. The Rochester Police Department stated they will increase patrols in certain areas that have seen an increase in violence.
