Arrest made in Alphonse Street homicide
On September 6th the Rochester Police Department confirmed that the United States Marshal’s Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force arrested Brandon Williams. Mr. Williams was arrested in Rochester and was arraigned in Monroe County Court this afternoon and is being charged with Murder 2nd Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
Brandon Williams, an 18-year-old Rochester resident was arrested for the shooting of 15-year-old Suade McKnight back on February 2, 2023. McKnight was shot and killed while inside a known drug house located at 391 Alphonse Street. Mr. Williams was found shortly after the shooting on Remington Street with a gunshot wound to his body.
During the investigation, detectives were able to uncover information that shows that Mr. Williams, who was 17-years-old at the time of the shooting, was not a victim but a suspect in the shooting.
The Rochester Police Department has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that additional arrests are forthcoming.
