Crash kills 2 children on Lyell Ave and Mt. Read

On Wednesday morning at 9:45am the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Lyell Avenue and Mount Read Blvd for a report of a motor vehicle crash. When officers arrived on scene, they found a two-vehicle crash.

Commander Greg Bello advised that a vehicle carrying an adult and three children crashed into another vehicle at the intersection. Bello stated that 2 of the children were pronounced dead on scene.

The 3rd child was transported to a local hospital where they are in critical condition.

The adult driver of the vehicle is okay.

The driver of the vehicle that they collided with is also okay.

Bello said the death of the children especially the day before Thanksgiving is emotionally crushing.

The Rochester Police Department is investigating the crash.

It is too early in the investigation to know if any charges will be filed.
