CRC investigation has county officials looking for funding

On Friday afternoon, city officials released more information pertaining to the ongoing investigation pertaining to the mismanagement of Monroe County COVID recovery funds by the Community Resource Center.  County Executive Adam Bello stated that his administration is looking at alternate funding for community partners who are no longer obtaining funding.

According to recent developments, Monroe County paid Community Resource Center about $1 million dollars to help disperse more than $7 million dollars to community groups.  Community Resource Center staff noticed mismanagement of funding through an internal audit.  All the employees involved in the mismanagement of funding were fired.   Due to the ongoing investigation, the remaining money is being withheld, leaving community groups who were waiting for funding not to receive their share.

The Department of Human Services is working with the county to see how they can assist the groups impacted.
