Early morning shooting kills one on North Clinton Avenue, 3 others shot
On Tuesday morning around 2:45am the Rochester Police Department responded to the 400 block of North Clinton Avenue for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they found about 200 people fighting at the Clinton Baden Community Center.
While officers were clearing the scene, they found 4 people had been shot. One of the victims, a 24-year-old male was found by the basketball court suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Due to the crowd still fighting on scene, officers placed the victim into the back of a patrol car, started CPR, and drove the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The other three victims were transported from the scene by private vehicles to a local hospital.
The other three surviving victims are:
A male in his 30’s who arrived at Rochester General Hospital shortly after the incident with a gunshot wound to his torso.
A female in her 20’s arrived at Strong Memorial Hospital with at least one gunshot wound to her upper body.
And the last victim, unknown age, arrived at Strong Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to her torso.
North Clinton Avenue is shut down between Kelly Street and Ward Street. The public is being asked to avoid the area while officers conduct their investigation.
All three victim’s conditions are considered non-life-threatening.
30-year-old parolee, Quinjavis Lewis was charged with criminal endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degree.

According to the Rochester Police Department, on Tuesday morning Lewis was at the Clinton Baden Community Center with about 200-300 other individuals when an argument ensued. During the argument, Lewis pulled out a handgun and began to shoot.Â
A 24-year-old male was killed, and three others were injured.
The Rochester Police Department is investigating the incident.
