Fire ends in neighborhood store demolished
The Rochester Fire Department Deputy Chief said that around 9 P.M. fire crews responded to reported fire at a store located at the corner of Brown Street and Saxton Street. When the fire crews arrived on scene there was heavy smoke and flames showing from the building. The fire was put out in under 30 minutes with no firefighters injured. The structure of the building is badly damaged. Firefighters noticed that a cash register and an ATM machine that were inside the store appeared to have been broken into.
There was no one inside the store at the time of the fire, but this store is known as an active business supporting the local neighborhood.
The cause of the fire was declared as arson and suspicious.
