Former Police Chief Singletary to testify in Daniel Prude investigation

Former Rochester Police Chief La’Ron Singletary has agreed to take part in a deposition in regards to the death of Daniel Prude.

The deposition will be presided over by Rochester City Council members Malik Evans and Michael Patterson. The deposition will be live-streamed so members of the public can watch.

Singletary has agreed to turn over personal cell phone records.

Singletary’s attorney stated that he objected to Singletary taking part in the deposition, since he is no longer employed with The City of Rochester.

Singletary will be the first to testify to the events that occurred with Daniel Prude’s death. Mayor Lovely Warren and City Council President Loretta Scott have also been subpoenaed.

Former Chief Singletary still has an ongoing claim with the City of Rochester, where he alleges that Mayor Warren had asked him to withhold full and truthful information from the City Council.
