Long Island and New York City prepare for Hurricane Henri

On Saturday afternoon New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a State of Emergency for parts of New York State ahead of the approaching Hurricane. Hurricane Henri is in the Atlantic Ocean and is heading north toward New York City and Long Island. It is expected to make landfall on Sunday.

This is the first hurricane in decades to hit Long Island.

The National Weather Service has stated that areas from the Capital district to New York City could see heavy rain along with high winds. They are advising the public to stay indoors until the storm passes.
