Lovely Warren to remain on ballot after court decision
Monroe County Supreme Court ruled that former Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren could stay on the primary ballot for the office of Rochester City Court Judge.
The ruling came following a lawsuit that was filed by Democrat and local attorney Michael Geraci, who is also running for the city court judge seat. Geraco filed the lawsuit after former Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren's name appeared on both petitions for city judge and for a party committee seat. In the lawsuit, Geraci states that Warren's name was penciled in without her consent by a person within the party.
The lawsuit went on to say that Warren's petition for city court judge should be invalidated because she is listed as a candidate for two public offices that are incompatible.
The court disagreed with the argument, saying Geraci failed to show that Warren committed fraud. The court also went on to say that Warren can remain on the ballot for Rochester City Court.
