Man shot on Monroe Avenue Monday night

On Monday evening at 6:15pm the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Monroe Avenue and Meigs Street for a report of a person shot.  When officers arrived on scene, they located numerous shell casings but no victims.  As officers were processing the scene, officers were notified of a gunshot victim that arrived at Strong Memorial Hospital via private vehicle.

The victim sustained at least one gunshot wound to his lower body.  The victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No suspects are in custody at this time.

The Rochester Police Department is asking anyone with information to call 911.
