Movie night for young children and families in Downtown Rochester
The City of Rochester and the Washington Square Community Association hosted Movies with a Downtown View at MLK Park. The event started at 7:00pm with Food trucks, activities, music, and a movie that starts at 8:45pm. Tonight’s movie is Encanto, which is a musical/family movie about a family that is extraordinary and resides in the mountains of Colombia called Encanto. The magic of Encanto has blessed each child in the family with a unique gift, except one of the children, whose name is Maribel. It is a cute family friendly movie that will make you laugh.
The event has brought numerous families to the park to enjoy a great summer Friday night. GSL Spoke with a few of the people at the event, who all had one thing in common, they all said what a great event it is.
Renee, a city resident of 10 years, stated that she brought her family down to not only enjoy the movie, but to enjoy some of the events for the kids. Renee stated “During the recent ongoing negativity going on in the city, this is a spotlight that there is still good”.
The next Movies with a Downtown View will take place on August 5th at 7pm. The featured movie will be the 80’s classic Back to the Future. Admission is free.
