One dead after being struck by vehicle on Remington Street

On Friday night around 7:30pm the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Remington Street and Morrill Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash. When officers arrived on scene, they found 20-year-old Jaden Lewis laying in the roadway near Remington Street and Bloomingdale Street suffering from significant injuries to his body.

Lewis was transported by AMR from the scene to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Rochester Police Department, Lewis was holding onto the hood of a parked car, which was being driven by Miani Blake. Blake began to drive the vehicle southbound on Remington Street. As Blake was traveling southbound on Remington Street, Lewis fell off the vehicle and was ran over. Blake stopped the vehicle and waited for police to arrive.

Blake, 20, is being charged with criminally negligent homicide.
