Overnight shooting injuries 2 on Genesee Street

On Wednesday morning just after midnight the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Lennox Street and Genesee Street for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found an adult male and a teen girl both suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken by AMR to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The female victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The male victim has life-threatening injuries.

According to a witness, he noticed a couple people get out of a car, then get into a verbal altercation with the male victim before it turned into a physical altercation. That was when one of the people from the car began shooting.

The Rochester Police Department has advised that no suspects are in custody.
