Pedestrian killed on Lake Avenue

On Friday evening around 8:00pm the Rochester Police Department responded to Lake Avenue near Phelps Avenue for a report of a person struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 35-year-old female lying in the roadway.

The female was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital via AMR, where she was pronounced dead.

According to the Rochester Police Department, the female was attempting to cross Lake Avenue near Phelps Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Lake Avenue.

The Rochester Police Department is still investigating the incident.

The female victim's name has not been released pending family notification.
