Rochester Police investigating its 2nd homicide of the year near East Avenue

Rochester police confirms a man was shot and killed near East Avenue in the bar district around 11:45 P.M Saturday night.

Rochester police officers were in the area when shots were fired, officers immediately responded to the location of the scene were shots was fired. There they found a man on the ground who had been shot at least.

The male victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say during the early stage of the investigation a "altercation between the victim and the suspect, which quickly escalated, resulting in the victim being shot multiple times".

This is Rochester New York 2nd homicide of the year.

They are no suspects in custody and police are asking anyone with any information to come forward.
