Rochester reaches 30th homicide after man shot and killed on East Avenue and Lawrence Street

Early Saturday morning the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of East Avenue and Lawrence Street around 1:00am for report a person shot. When officers arrived on scene, they found a male lying in the roadway.

The victim is in his mid-20's, sustained at least one gunshot wound to his upper body.

Police say that the victim and another the suspect may have engaged in some type of argument before the shooting occurred.

The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

There are no suspects in custody at this time and the Rochester Police Department is asking anyone in the community to come forward with information. Individuals with information can call 911, the Major Crimes Unit 585-428-7157, Crime Stoppers 585-423-9300.
