Rochester’s 2022 Lilac Festival Returns
On Friday May 6, the 2022 Rochester Lilac Festival returns. The event will run as a three-week format. There will be food vendors, live music, art, exhibits, and access to the lilac gardens.
The three-week format is listed below:
Week 1: May 6-May 8 (open 10:30am to 8:30pm)
Week 2: May 12-May 15 (open 10:30am to 8:30pm)
Week 3: May 19-May 22 (open 10:30am to 8:30pm)

There will be shuttle service available for attendees. The shuttle services will be running from Monroe Community College, which is located at 1000 E. Henrietta Road from 10am-9pm each day of the event with pick up and drop off services to the corner of South Avenue and Highland Avenue. The shuttle service will be charging adults a round trip fee of $5.00, and children 6 and under ride free. Handicap accessibility is available.
On Saturday, May 7 at 10:30am the kickoff of the Lilac Festival begins with the Lilac Unity Parade. The parade starts at South Avenue at Science Parkway, then will travel north on South Avenue to Highland Avenue, where it will turn south past the lilac gardens and come to an end at the corner of Highland Avenue and Goodman Street.
The parade is presented by Wegmans and will have more than 2,500 participants. There will be 20 marching bands, dancers, and characters. The Grand Marshal for the parade is Olympic gold medalist Chris Lillis.
