RPD officer injured attempted to arrest suspect after robbery

On Tuesday night around 8:30pm the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of 500 Portland Avenue for a report of 2 males wearing masks had robbed a Rite Aide.

Officer arrived on scene and found two males that had fit the description. A foot chase ensued. During the foot chase a Rochester Police officer was attacked.

The officer has been transported to a local hospital where his injuries are unknown.

The Rochester Police Department has numerous officers on scene along with K-9.

RPD is still in the process of looking for the suspects.

The Rochester Police Department is asking the public to avoid the area of Carter Street and Gothic Street.
