Two Rochester New York police officers shot, one killed “officer down, shots fired”

Rochester police confirms around 9:15 P.M Thursday night police officers we’re working a detail when one male opened fire on the officers.

Another citizen was also shot but unsure if it was from police or the suspect.

At least one of the officers were able to return fire but didn’t hit the suspect.

One officer was transported to Strong memorial hospital, the other officer transported to Rochester General Hospital.

The officer who was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital was pronounce dead a short time after arriving at the hospital.

Hundreds of police officers from all around the county are at the scene. Active swap members and more Have the surrounding areas shut down.
