Vehicle with baby inside stolen on Fernwood Avenue

On Wednesday afternoon, just after 2:00pm the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of 900 Fernwood Avenue for a report of a vehicle stolen and a child still in the vehicle.

When officers arrived on scene, they were advised that a male stole a BMW 3 series. Inside the vehicle at the time was stolen was a 3week old baby. Officers were also told that the parents were following the vehicle. The Rochester Police Department put a countywide be on the lookout for the vehicle.

The vehicle came to a stop on Bedford Street at which time the male suspect exited the vehicle and ran. As officers arrived on scene, they set up a perimeter. The BMW was checked by officers, and they found the baby still in the vehicle.

AMR was called to the scene to evaluate the baby.

As of this time no suspects are in custody.
