Women dies in house fire on Kenwood Avenue

Around 4:45 PM Thursday afternoon Rochester Firefighters responded to Kenwood Avenue for reports of a house fire and a person trapped inside.

When crews arrived on scene, there were smoke in flames coming from the building with witnesses saying that there was someone trapped inside.

Rochester five fires put out the fire, but was unable to save the victim that was inside. The victim was found dead inside.

Two bystanders who were in the area at the time of the fire, tried to go in and save her, but was unsuccessful as a smoke and flames were too unbearable to withstand.

Neighbors in the area were emotional. At one point one person came to the screen came to the scene yelling grandma.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and is still under investigation.
