Child struck by vehicle on Ravine Avenue




On Sunday evening just after 6:30pm the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Ravine Avenue and Tacoma Street in Rochester, New York for a report of a child struck by a vehicle. As officers arrived on scene, they were notified that a 5-year-old child had been struck by a vehicle. The child was no longer on scene and had been transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The child did suffer injuries to his upper and lower parts of his body. The child’s injuries are non-life threatening.

The Rochester Police Department stated that through their investigation, it appears the child ran into the roadway, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Ravine Avenue. The driver of the vehicle left the scene.

No one is in custody at this time.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 911.
