House fire on Dewey Avenue sends one person to the hospital


The Rochester Fire Department responded to a working fire on Dewey Avenue around 11:15pm Monday night. When firefighters arrived on scene there was smoke and flames coming from the two-story apartment building. The fire was located in the kitchen and did some damage to the building. The fire was under control within minutes.


There was four family staying inside of the apartment building and all were accounted for.


One person was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.


Three of the families were allowed to stay at the residence as the structure were not severely damaged.
