Man shot and killed after answering door at home on Shelter Street
Around 4:00am the Rochester Police Department responded to the 100 block of Shelter Street for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 22-year-old male had been shot multiple times. The male victim was taken to University of Rochester Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6:00am.
Preliminary reports from the Rochester Police Department confirm that the male victim heard a knock on his front door and answered it. As he opened the door, he was shot multiple times. At that time of the shooting, there was a 12-year-old child in the home that was sleeping.
The Rochester Police Department is investigating the shooting and currently have no suspects in custody.
