New York State AG Letitia James running for Governor

On October 27 New York State Attorney General Letitia James announced that she will be running for Governor.

James will be running as a Democrat and is looking to get the votes to beat out Governor Hochul.

James was the first woman elected as New York State Attorney General. She is also the first black New York State Attorney General.

Letitia James was born in Brooklyn and had been in some form of government as she got older. James is considered a strong Democratic lead and could be a threat to Governor Hochul.

James became Attorney General for New York in 2019. Since taking office she had investigated former President Trumps business affairs, sues the Replublican party of federal immigration laws, and most recently investigated the allegations of sexual misconduct by former Governor Cuomo.

The primary elections are in June of 2022.
