One injured in shooting on Weld Street


On Tuesday afternoon just after 2:00pm the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Weld Street for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 33-year-old Rochester man had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The male was taken to University of Rochester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Rochester Police Department advised that at the time of the shooting, there were numerous residents not far from the area gathering at a vigil for a homicide victim that was shot in the area a couple weeks ago.

The Rochester Police Department stated that no suspects are in custody and that anyone with information is asked to call 911.
