One suspect is in custody after the crash of a stolen car in Rochester on Thursday night

The Rochester Police Department say the car was reported stolen from Joseph Avenue around 6 p.m. on Thursday. The car had a legally owned gun inside when it was taken.

Police say that they spotted the car on Joseph Avenue about two hours later. They tried to make a traffic stop at that time on Emerson Street, but the driver took off before almost immediately crashing into another vehicle. No one was hurt in the crash.

Police quickly took the driver into custody when he tried to run away, and the gun was recovered.
