Police chase ends with crash that kills one person


Rochester Police along with New York State Police are on Whittlesey Street and Seward Street in Rochester, New York with an ongoing investigation.

On Sunday afternoon around 2:30pm Rochester Police along with New York State Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a possible stolen vehicle. As they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle refused to stop. The vehicle led New York State Police and Rochester Police on a short chase, before colliding with another vehicle at the intersection of Whittlesey Street and Seward Street.

Numerous ambulances responded to the scene, and CPR was being performed on one person. One person has been confirmed deceased.


The Rochester Police Department does have 4 people in custody.


The Rochester Police Department has confirmed that the Major Crimes Unit is responding to the scene along with the Command van.

This is still an active ongoing investigation
