Teen shot while walking to school


On October 27 around 6:30am the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Dewey Avenue and Alameda Street for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found a teenage male who had sustained a gunshot wound.


The teenager was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


According to the Rochester Police Union the teenager left home and was walking to school when he was shot. After being shot, the teen walked back to his home, where his mother called 911.


The area was closed off for a short time this morning while officers investigated the scene.


No suspects are in custody at this time.


Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
