Two early morning shootings lead to one dead


On Wednesday morning the Rochester Police Department responded to two separate shootings with the city of Rochester.

On Wednesday morning around 7:30am the Rochester Police Department responded to Lamont Place for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 19-year-old male was shot at least once in his upper body.

The victim was transported by AMR to the hospital, where he has reportedly died.

Rochester Police state that the suspected and the victim appear to have known each other.

It is unknown if a suspect is in custody or what were the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Also on Wednesday morning around 8:00am the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of 1100 Dewey Avenue for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found one victim who had appeared to be shot at least once.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Rochester Police the shooting occurred at a store on Dewey Avenue right across the street from Aquinas High School. The area was closed off and Aquinas High School was on lockdown while officers investigated the shooting.

Aquinas High School advised that the incident that occurred outside the school does not involve any students and that all their students are safe.

The lockdown has since been lifted and the Rochester Police Department has reopened the area to the public.

Anyone with information on either shooting is asked to call 911.
