Amari Brown, 22, was arrested Thursday for second degree murder

On July 24, 2017 at about 11:45 pm, Lake Section Officers were dispatched to the rear of 405 Lyell Avenue for the report of a female deceased behind the building. Upon arrival, Officers located Monica Sherman, 42 years old, of Rochester NY. She was found to have multiple stab wounds and had succumbed to her injuries at the scene. 

As a result of the investigation by the Major Crimes Unit, Amari Brown, 22 of Rochester was taken into custody on today. Brown has been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and will be arraigned tomorrow morning in Rochester City Court.
