Man shot at gas station on South Clinton Avenue

A man was shot multiple times on the city's southwest side. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree on South Clinton Avenue Street near South Goodman Street. The man was shot multiple times in his lower body, according to Rochester Police Capt. Frank Umbrino. He then ran to the nearby Valero parking lot, where he collapsed. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police don't believe the incident was random. The shooting came about 30 minutes after a shooting several blocks away off North Goodman Street. Police don't believe the two are connected. “It’s certainly challenging but we get the job done," Umbrino said. "It’s a strain on resources. People make poor decisions. It’s difficult for us.” 

There are no suspects in custody at this time.
