2 Shootings on Monday night in Rochester

Monday was a busy day for Rochester Police Department as the crime rate continues to rise. The first shooting occurred on Saranac Street, where a drive-by shooting happened. No reported injuries during that incident.

The second shooting happened on Backus Street where a male was shot. That victims was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

No one is in custody at this time for neither shootings. 

Rochester has 16 homicides just this year. The majority of them occurred in the summer of 2019.
