House fire on West Main Street


On Saturday evening around 10:35pm the Rochester Fire Department responded to West Main Street near Jefferson Avenue in Rochester, New York for a report of a house fire. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames coming from a 3-story, multi-family home. A female was trapped in the residence and had to be rescued by firefighters.


Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire after about 30 minutes.


The female rescued from the home was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation.


The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Rochester Fire Department.
