Large house fire on Child Street leaving one person in the hospital

Around 7:40 PM firefighters responded to Danforth Street and Child Street for report of a structure fire. When crews arrived on scene there was large flames and smoke coming from the home.

One person was home at the time and was transported to the hospital with breathing issues.

The home was destroyed by the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants with housing accommodations.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
