New York State Regents exams canceled for June amid coronavirus closures

Regents exams for all New York schools are being canceled for the month of June. The decision was made Monday by Board of Regents Chancellor Betty Rosa. The Board of Regents issued several changes and regulations designed to make it easier for teachers, education professionals, and students to learn and teach during the coronavirus pandemic that has affected millions of students across New York State.

Among those changes, a one-year federal waiver will allow the Board to assess school and district performance using 2018-19 school year data instead of 2019-20 data.

All school districts will remain closed through April 29, 2020.
